From things you never dreamed of to things you haven't found anywhere else. And because we don't have acres of space, we are extremely particular about what we will sell. We simply look for those things that we feel are the best choice - from peelers to pillows.

Victoria has perfected the Sunday drive, only here it's done every day of the year. You can plan an interesting tour with a theme, like gardens or heritage buildings, or just head out to the countryside and explore. If you'd rather look at scenery than drive, a large number of sightseeing tours are available, from the famous double-decker bus tours to horse-drawn carriages, and even tiny ferries that ply the waters of the Inner Harbour. Getting there is at least half the fun. Whether you pick a Victoria city tour, or venture out of town, the wide array of vehicles, vessels, schedules and routes allows you to choose a tour at your own pace. Imagine 19th-century shop windows full of vivid tartans, fine bone china, handmade chocolates and striking native art. From the exotic to the extravagant, Victoria offers shopping that's entertainment itself. Victoria is a fascinating marketplace of beautiful things from around the world, and the city is perfectly suited to shopping at an easy pace. A Virtual Tour of Victoria BC

Victoria's British heritage is demonstrated in the shop windows along Government Street. Browse in one of Canada's best bookstores or wander through a magical world of Christmas. See some of the finest native arts and crafts including the world famous Cowichan sweater.

Victoria's cosmopolitan shopping goes beyond Government Street. Open 7 days a week, Victoria Eaton Centre is an indoor galleria-style marketplace with over 100 shops and boutiques wrapped in a block of heritage facades. The setting is unique: exquisitely designed fountains, pools, historical facades... even an ornate British Empire clock.

Stroll through Bastion and Market Squares with their unique shops and restaurants. Explore Chinatown for exotic imports from Asia. Visit the historic Hudson's Bay department store and go antique-store hopping on Fort Street.

Canadian Currency and Banking
Canadian currency, like U.S. money, is in dollars and cents. The Canadian dollar is a coin (nicknamed a "loonie" because it portrays a Canadian loon on the back) as well as the two dollar coin and all other dollar denominations (starting with $5) are paper currency.

All international visitors, including U.S. residents, should be aware of currency exchange rates. Visitors are encouraged to exchange their currency at Canadian financial institutions, or purchase Canadian dollars before arriving. While U.S. currency is accepted at most Victoria businesses, exchange rates vary at the till. Most major credit cards can be used in Canada, and traveller's cheques are universally accepted.

Goods and Services Tax and Visitor Rebates
Visitors to Canada can claim a rebate on the GST they paid on certain goods they take out of Canada, and for GST on accommodation if their stay is less than 30 days. Cash rebates of up to $500 can be claimed by submitting original receipts at a participating Duty-Free store, or they can be mailed with an application form to Revenue Canada (available at Tourism Victoria's Travel InfoCentre).
